Abstract

962,942. Roof units. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 23, 1963 [Feb. 6, 1962], No. 4608/62. Headings E1B and E1V. A thermoplastic roof unit comprises a truncated pyramidal or conical member 1, having a rectangular base 2 with an upturned flange 3, to the top of which is secured a similar member 4 having a rectangular base 5 of at least the same dimensions as the base 2 and having a downturned flange 6. A number of such units are secured together, as by bolting, through the flanges 3, 6 reinforced with metal backing 7 to form a flat, barrel or dome roof according to the relative dimensions of the bases 2 and 5. Reinforcement by stays between the flange bolts may be provided as may insulation of foam plastic within the hollow area bounded by adjacent units.
