962,721. Magnetic core matrix stores. ELEKTRONISCHE RECHENMASCHINEN, WISSENSCHAFTLICHER INDUSTRIEBETRIEB, KARLMARX-STADT VEB. Jan 11, 1961, No. 1174/61. Heading G4C. A magnetic core matrix store is provided with four magnetic core stepping pulse registers as reading and writing drivers for rows and columns. As shown a pulse entered at Z 2 and Z 4 simultaneously will reset core X 1 Y 1 to produce a read-out pulse on winding 4 and at the same time set cores 5 and 9 in the read stepping registers 2, 3. Pulses supplied synchronously to Z 1 and Z 3 will now step 2 and 3 together to read out cores X 2 Y 2 , X 3 Y 3 &c. in turn; if readout along a non-principal diagonal, or only a partial diagonal, is required then entry to one or both of the stepping registers may be made at the appropriate A 2 point instead of Z 2 and/or Z 4 . Writing in a similar manner is effected by the use of stepping registers 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> similar to 2, 3.
