[Also in Divisions E1 and F2] A gas supply installation in a building comprises supply pipe 2 supported by room defining structure 1, the pipe having a closable free end 2a within a cavity adapted to open to a room space, and the end 2a is adapted, e.g. by threading, to be detachably connected by a coupling device to a gas consuming apparatus. The cavity may, as shown, comprise a box 3 with an openable side, which box may be within the room-defining structure 1. Alternatively, the cavity may be directly formed within the said structure. The supply pipe and/or box may lie wholly beneath the surface of the structure. The pipe shown is closed by a cap 4 which is removed when plug-in devices or control cocks are to be attached to the pipe end.
