Abstract

960,588. Decorative strip material. HOWARD CLAYTON-WRIGHT Ltd. July 12, 1961 [July 13, 1960], No. 24342/60. Heading B6G. A weatherproof decorative strip comprises a core 13 of relatively flexible plastics material which constitutes the major portion of the crosssectional area of the strip, an outer sheath 14 of relatively rigid plastics material surrounding the core and metal foil 15 embedded in said composite strip and completely enclosed therein. The metal foil may be embedded in the outer sheath as shown or in the core, in which case it should be embedded close to the face of the core. The core may be formed of polyvinyl chloride and the sheath of cellulose acetate butyrate. The metal foil may be a metal such as aluminium or a metallised plastic film. The strip may be formed by known extrusion processes in which the core is extruded inside the sheath. If desired, the metal foil may be coated with a lacquer which melts during the extrusion operation and bonds to the plastic material.
