Abstract

A material for a footwear upper comprises a layer of artificial leather (1) and a layer of elasticized material (2). The two layers are joined together by gluing. The elasticized layer provides improved flexibility and mouldability of the footwear material. The elasticized layer can be selectively provided in regions of the footwear upper where flexibility and mouldability characteristics are required. The elasticized material may contain LYCRA (RTM). A lining material (3) may be attached and foam may be present between layers (2) and (3).
