A label to be looped around the handle of luggage or similar articles, the ends of which are secured together adhesively comprises a narrow strip of thin card a, line scored at b and perforated at c. The weakened line b is reinforced by material e such as linen secured adhesively and preferably applied before the card is line scored. One end of the card has an adhesive layer covered by a protective strip d, the strip d having a portion d<SP>1</SP> longer than the adhesive layer to provide a lifting tab. The label is passed through the handle, looped round and the adhesive coated end secured so as to leave the portion perforated at C free to be removed. The strip can be waisted at the score line b.
