[Also in Division E2] A shaft of resilient material is formed with a slot 3 and projections 4 tapered at 4a to facilitate entry of the projections into the bore of a bushing, the sides of the slot moving together to allow passage of the bushing and then springing apart so that the shoulders 4b prevent reverse movement of the bushing. The shaft may be integral with a cam, pulley or gearwheel which may limit forward movement of the bushing, or a second set of projections may be provided, in which case the slot 3 may be common to both sets. Ribs 7 may be provided to frictionally grip the bushing. The shaft may be made of an injection moulding material such as polypropylene.
