956,937. Fasteners. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Feb. 27, 1962 [April 11, 1961], No. 7665/62. Heading E2B. A snap fastener comprises a stud having a head 1 and a neck 2 engageable in an apertured disc 4 formed with slots 7 to provide resilient tongues to grip the neck 2. At least one of the fastening members is comprised of tough paper stock e.g. vulcanised fibre, and in one embodiment the head is formed by drawing from a flat piece of material. The fastening members may be adhesively secured to envelopes or paper clothes. In a modification (Figs. 7-11 not shown), the socket is formed with an integral cover portion, the stud and socket being placed respectively between layers of the article to be fastened.
