Abstract
956,337. Prenucleated vesicular materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. June 28,1962 [July 3, 1961], No. 24884/62. Heading G2C. Light sensitive vesicular materials before imagewise exposure and development, are given a uniform exposure to radiation to which they are sensitive so that there is an increase in specular optical density of 0. 03 to 1. 5 density units over the unexposed material, uniformly heating the exposed material thus formed and then leaving the material for at least 12 hours between 0 and 35‹C. before use. This 'pre-nucleation' increases the speed and reduces the contrast. Specified light sensitive compounds are diazonium salts, azido and azido-carbonyl compounds. The vesicular material is generally uniformly exposed for 10 to 60 seconds with no filter or from 30 to 100 seconds with a 0. 5 neutral density filter and heated from 45 to 70‹C. for 5 to 10 seconds. Subsequent image-wise exposure is from 2 to 24 minutes and heat development is from 2 to 30 seconds at 85‹ to 105‹C. Specification 956,336 is referred to.
