Abstract
956,117. Shelf brackets. STANLEY WORKS. Jan. 25, 1963, No. 3168/63. Heading A4B. A shelf supporting assembly includes a vertical standard 2 having a substantially unbroken front wall 4 and side walls 6 presenting U-shaped channels 8 with spaced base apertures 10 within which shelf supporting elements 24 or 40 are disengagably mounted, The elements 24 comprise shelf-supporting arms 26, flanges 32 received in the U-shaped channels 8, integrally formed lugs 34 which are releasably engaged in the apertures 10, and lips 30 to hold the shelf in position. The elements 40 are used when the standards 2 are placed at the ends of shelves and they have only one arm, flange and lug. The standards 2 are secured to a wall 16 by screws 12. The shelves may have grooves to fit around the standards 2, or the standards 2 may be fitted in recesses 22 in the wall 16 so that the front face 4 is flush with the wall surface.
