Abstract
955,322. Armrests. R. MAUSER, A. MAUSER, and P. MAUSER. April 30, 1962 [April 28, 1961], No. 16418/62. Heading A4J. An armrest pad 5, 5b is made wholly of synthetic resin and has a non-circular cavity to accommodate a singe bar 1, 1b forming a chair arm and having a shape which exactly fits at least part of that of the cavity so that relative rotation of the bar and armrest pad is prevented, the cavity being bounded by a wall which is discontinuous and resilient so as to enable the armrest pad to be placed on the bar by being pushed on in a direction at right angles to the axis of the bar, the wall being so shaped as to extend sufficiently far round the bar to ensure that the armrest pad cannot be pulled off the bar without deformation of the wall. The armrest pad may be attached by adhesive to the bar or a space may be provided between the pad 5, 5b and the bar 1, 1b to increase the resilience of the rest.
