Abstract

954,724. Greasing baking tins. M. VOEGE, [trading as H. VOEGE [Firm of]]. May 3, 1962 [May 23, 1961; Dec. 5, 1961], No. 16987/62. Heading A4D. [Also in Division B8] Inverted cake tins or the like are supplied manually to a guide plate 22, Figs. 2 and 3, and are advanced in succession through a casing 21 between upper and lower sets of rollers 14 and 12 respectively, and are cleaned by a row of rotary scrapers 16 mounted on a vertically reciprocable frame 27, and a rotary brush 17. The tins are then greased by a rotary device 18 with strips 18a which contact a roller 19 dipping into a grease container 20. The upper rollers and the rotary scraper are driven by a motor 28 via gearing &c. and the frame 27 is reciprocated, to bring the scrapers into contact with the tins or to withdraw them, by a motor 32 with a pinion which engages a rack 33 on the frame. The lower rollers are carried on rails 11 resiliently supported by springs 13. Each scraper comprises a head 24 carrying resilient blades 25, 26, Figs. 5 and 6, and adjacent bends in the row have inter-engaging pinions so that adjacent heads rotate in opposite directions. One side of each tin abuts collars of the rollers 14, and its other side abuts guide rollers mounted on a resiliently mounted bar. In a modification, Fig. 11 the tins are carried along between pairs of guide rails 50, 50a by a pair of endless belts 52 to which are secured driving members 51 in bushes 53. The members 51 comprise resiliently mounted pins which engage behind the tins to push them along. Figs. 13 and 14 show an alternative scraper comprising a resiliently supported head 61 with resilient blades 62 mounted on a rotary disc 63 by springs 66 embracing bolts 67. The scraper head 61 of Fig. 15 has plates 69 of resilient plastic material with scraper plates 71 of steel.
