Abstract

2-Methylthio-4, 6-bis-amino -striazines, substituted in at least one amino group by at least one organic radical, are prepared by reacting a 2-halogeno -4, 6-bis-amino -striazine, substituted in at least one amino group by at least one organic radical and wherein halogen represents fluorine, chlorine or bromine, with methyl mercaptan in the presence of an acid binding agent, the reaction being performed in a secondary alcohol as solvent or diluent. The invention also comprises the 2-methylthio-4, 6-bis-amino-s-triazines of the above type which are prepared in the examples. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 927,348.
