Abstract

953,907. Carving forks. PRESTIGE GROUP Ltd. July 9, 1962 [July 7, 1961], No. 24751/61. Heading A4V. [Also in Division B3] A knife sharpener 12 is secured between the handle 11 and prongs of a fork, a finger guard, disposed between the sharpener and the handle, consisting of an upstanding member 15 inclined towards the prongs and having a concave face towards the fork handle. The sharpener consists of a rigid plastic moulding riveted to the shaft 10 of the fork and having a V-shaped groove 13 in which a pair of metal strips or metal wheels are set to act as sharpening surfaces. In a modification the shapener is detachable and according to the Provisional Specification the sharpening elements are formed of carborundum.
