953,147. Refuse incinerators. A.B. SCORER Ltd. Feb. 12, 1963 [March 1, 1962], No. 7928/62. Heading F4B. Refuse is burnt on a trough-shaped hearth A by burners C arranged to deliver along the valleys of transverse corrugations a formed in the hearth A. The burners C may be mounted in the charging door B, or on the opposite wall of the combustion chamber, and the side of trough nearer the burners is shorter and steeper than the other side. A baffle A<SP>1</SP> is mounted above the hearth A, and a grate E to one side of it burns readily combustible refuse, the gases from the hearth A and grate E mingling to pass over the baffle A<SP>1</SP> to the flue D. A separate charging door F and ignition burner are provided for the grate E. Combustion air enters the refuse on the hearth A through the burners or air parts c.
