Abstract

953,059. Electric selective signalling systems. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 6, 1960 [May 9, 1959], No. 16125/59. Heading G4H. A selective system for receiving a sequence of different frequencies comprises a plurality of stages, one for each frequency in a sequence, similar to that shown in Fig. 1 and which comprises a tuned circuit 1, and a monostable trigger circuit including transistors 9, 19, of which transistor 19 is normally conducting. Diode 6 is omitted from the first stage, and on reception of the frequency corresponding to this stage, the signal induced in secondary winding 8 is rectified by transistor 9 and transistor 19 is cut off, thereby blocking diode 6<SP>1</SP> of the succeeding stage for a period determined by the time constant of network 18, 20. Reception of the signal frequency corresponding to the next stage within this period prepares the following stage, and so on. The outputs of transistors 9 may also be used through interconnected gating circuits 22, 23 to operate a number of triggers, one for each stage, simultaneously by transmitting all frequencies after the entire sequence has been received. Specifications 778,152 and 919,172 are referred to.
