952,935. Mechanical switches, without quick action. OAK MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 2, 1961, No. 28060/61. Heading H2B. A rotary selector switch comprises a number of cylindrical, insulating sections 28 mounted end to end and locked against rotary motion relative to a plate 16 by projections 23 and against longitudinal movement by a spring clip 56 engaging a shaft 11 journalled in the plate 16 and itself prevented from longitudinal movement by a C-clip 14a, and at least one section carrying a number of spring contact clips 45 selectively interconnectable by moving contacts 50 mounted on an insulating rotor 47 carried by the shaft 11. The shaft 11 also carries an indexing device 20 such as that described in Specification 759,053. The fixed contacts shown are riveted to the sections, but in a modification contacts are provided which can be sprung into place (Fig. 11, not shown).
