The teacher's panel 32 comprises, a microphone 3, headphones 10, monitoring switch 4, volume indicator 9, control switch 35 and is connected to a number of student positions 24 by cables 12, junction box 21 and cables 16, 22. The student positions 24 also contain a microphone 17 and headphones 18, and a plug-in tape-recorder 43 so that the students can listen to a lesson tape 1 themselves while re-recording or listening to the recorder 43. Each position comprises an acoustic chamber 25 having a glass front 27. Communication between the students and teacher may also be established.
