Abstract
952,080. Measuring rotor unbalance electrically. W.& T.AVERY Ltd. Sept. 5,1960 [Sept.10, 1959], No. 30482/60. Heading G1N. In apparatus for measuring the vibrations produced by the unbalance of a rotor by means of a feeler 81 attached to a bearing support 3, moving in the coil system 82 of a transducer 8, the supplementary movements of the coil system 82 due to lack of rigidity of the housing 84, is sensed by a further transducer 9 mounted on the housing 84 of transducer 8, whose armature carries an inertia mass 95. Both armatures are held normally central in their coil systems by diaphragms 86, 96. The signals from the coils are added to determine accurately the vibrations due to the rotor unbalance.
