A link for adjusting the length of a flexible member subject to tension is formed adjacent its ends with an eye 2 and a hook 3 lying in mutually inclined planes, a step or shoulder 6 being provided so that, when a tensioned member 7 bears against it, the link is "locked" on the member 7. The eye 2 and hook 3 lie generally in planes which are inclined to one another at an angle of more than 90 degrees.
