951,945. Wheel alignment; measuring the inclinations of vehicle wheels. L. HUNTER. July 4,1960, No. 23246/60. Headings G1F and G1M. Apparatus for determining the toe in characteristics of vehicle wheels comprises a light projector P fitted to each wheel and having a scale 60. Light beams F are projected from projector P on to mirrors 19, 20 and reflected back on to scale 60 to determine the alignment characteristics. Mirrors 19, 20 are adjustably mounted by means of rocking knees between members 12,14 and an adjusting screw. Each mirror is also pivotally mounted at 23 and has an adjusting screw 24. A sighting member 37 having apertures 40-45 which correspond with marks 40a-45a on the mirrors 19, 20 is provided to ensure correct alignment of the mirrors before the wheels are placed in position.
