Abstract

951,914. Dynamo-electric machines. COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. Jan. 23,1963 [Feb. 8, 1962], No. 2838/63. Heading H2A. A flat armature for a planar air-gap dynamoelectric machine comprises a winding of flat conductors of which no more than half form a commutation track close to the armature centre, the track forming conductor parts 6 being straight line parts extending towards the armature centre and alternating with conductors which do not form the commutating track. The conductors may be printed on both sides of an insulating disc 1 and the parts 6 may be inclined with respect to the radial direction. The armature is riveted to a hub 7, Fig. 2, and the brushes 12 bear on a part which is supported by an insulating ring 8. Whilst in the embodiment shown the armature forms the rotor, it may alternatively form the stator and be engaged by brushes fixed to a rotor having field windings.
