Abstract

A composition comprises an oxymethylene polymer containing in the polymer chain 60 to 99.6 mol. per cent. of oxymethylene units and also oxyalkylene units having two or more adjacent carbon atoms and an alkylene bisphenol having from one to four carbon atoms in the alkylene group and having from zero to two alkyl substituents on each benzene ring, each alkyl substituent having from one to four carbon atoms. Specified copolymers are those of trioxane and ethylene oxide, 1-3-dioxolane, 1,35,trioxepane, 1-3-dioxane, trimethyleneoxide, pentamethyleneoxide, 1-2-propylene or butylene oxide, neopentyl formal or pentaerythritol diformal, peraldehyde, tetrahydrofurane and butadiene monoxide, while specified bisphenols, which are preferably present in amount of from 1 to 2% of the weight of the polymer are 2-21-methylene-bis(4-methyl-6-t-butyl phenol) which is preferred and its 4-ethyl homologue.
