Abstract

950,651. Transistor sawtooth generating circults. FERNSEH G.m.b.H. Feb. 16, 1961 [Feb. 16, 1960], No. 5738/61. Heading H3T. A circuit for generating sawtooth waves of variable amplitude and polarity comprises a transistor having its base connected to a source of pulses, one of its emitter and collector electrodes connected through a load resistor to a source of reference voltage and the other connected to a source of voltage of variable magnitude and polarity with respect to the reference, the resulting pulses across the load being integrated to produce the sawtooth output waves. In the Figure, transistor 9 has its base supplied with negative going pulses from an emitter follower 5, its collector connected to a source of supply adjustable by means of a potentiometer 12 between a positive and negative voltage and its emitter connected to a load resistor 14. Pulses will thus be generated across the'load having an amplitude and polarity dependent upon the setting of potentiometer 12. These are integrated by a circuit 15, 16 to produce sawtooth waves of variable amplitude and polarity at the output 25.
