[Also in Division B3] Low alloy steel welding deposits have the following percentage compositions, the balance being iron and "x" denoting unavoidable amounts of constituents not exceeding 0.25% for any constituent and the sum total not exceeding 0.4% : High alloy steels and nickel based alloy weld deposits have the following percentage compositions, the balance being iron: Specified electrode coating compositions for electrodes for depositing the above low alloy steels contain equal amounts varying from 18 -40% each of silica and calcium fluoride, 12% ferro-manganese, 4% ferro-aluminium and varying amounts of one or more of nickel, chromium, ferro-molybdenum, ferro-vanadium and copper. Specified flux coating compositions for use in electrodes depositing the high alloy steels and nickel alloys referred to above contain substantially equal amounts of silica and fluorspar varying from 5-48% silica and 5- 49 % fluorspar with specified amounts of one or more of the following alloying agents: ferroniobium, chromium, ferro-titanium, nickel, molybdenum, graphite, carbon chrome, tungsten and a Ni-Al-Ti alloy. In addition a binder, e.g. potassium or sodium silicate, and extrusion aid, e.g. sodium alginate, is added to the flux composition. The carbon chrome is 80% Cr, 6% C, 14% Fe and the Ni-Al-Ti alloy is 60% Ni, 20% Al and 20% Ti.
