A flexible permanent magnet comprises finely divided particles of magnetic material, such as barium ferrite, bonded with one of, or a mixture of some or all of, chlorosulphonated polyethylene, polyisobutylene and chlorinated polyethylene, the particles comprising at least 60% of the volume, and not exceeding 10 microns in size. The mechanical and magnetic properties of various compositions according to the invention are shown in tables and graphs.
