[Also in Division G1] Drawn glass tubing is cut into lengths at 3 and rolled on to an endless conveyer 5 whence it is fed to a bucket elevator type conveyer 8. A device 43, 44 ensures that there is only one length per section of conveyer, and is adjustable for different gauges of tube. The lengths of tube 6 descend conveyer 8 to be delivered by one or other of arms 32, 38 to a corresponding station 9, 10, 11 in accordance with the size of the tube, measured at 12, 13 or 26, 27. Slowly rotating spiders 40 are provided having padded faces to prevent one tube crashing into the stationary tubes.
