[Also in Division F1] A sparking plug including an insulator 1 having an electrode passage and a shell 20 is made by inserting the insulator and a sleeve 2 into a mould 9, the sleeve interconnecting an end portion of the insulator and a part of the internal surface of the mould, and then casting the shell around the insulator and the sleeve, the sleeve preventing the casting material from entering the electrode passage.
