Abstract

An anti-fouling coating composition or paint contains as anti-fouling agent a distannoxane of the general formula <FORM:0945941/C3/1> in which the symbols R represent identical or different alkyl preferably containing 3-6 carbon atoms and/or aryl groups preferably a phenyl group, the proportion of the anti-fouling agent preferably being within the range of 0.5 to 5%. Specified agents are hexapropyl-, hexabutyl-distannoxane, and hexaphenyl-distannoxane. Specification 578,312 is referred to.ALSO:An anti-fouling coating composition or paint contains as anti-fouling agent a distannoxane of the general formula <FORM:0945941/A5-A6/1> in which the symbols R represent identical or different alkyl preferably containing 3-6 carbon atoms and/or aryl groups preferably a phenyl group, the proportion of the anti-fouling agent preferably being within the range of 0.5 to 5%. The anti-fouling agent may be incorporated in constructional materials e.g. plastics to be used for the construction of watercraft or submarine structures.
