Abstract

A high-temperature flexible electrical insulating material conformable to various shapes, comprises a fabric formed of fibres of the polyamide reaction product of xylylene diamine and terephthalic acid coated and impregnated with a heat-cured high temperature-resistant polymer. The fabric may be of various weaves, e.g. straight or diagonal weave. Suitable high temperature-resistant polymers include polyesters, polyamides, polyimides and silicones, e.g. dimethyl polysiloxane.
