Abstract

944,919. Display containers. MARDON, DON & HALL Ltd. Sept. 24, 1962 [Nov. 18, 1961], No.41349/61. Heading G5C. A display container for a single article comprises a tubular member of triangular crosssection, the tube being cut through panels 2, 3 dividing the tube into sections, panels on one side of each cut being scored and bent to form wedge shaped pockets to accommodate the adjacent end of the next section, the sections being bent up to embrace an article, means being provided at the apex 7 to hold the article and at the ends of the tube to interlock and maintain the container erected. Panels 18 are formed by cutting from the apex down perpendicularly to points 12 and extending the cuts obliquely to points 12<SP>1</SP>, scoring along lines 19, 20, 21 and folding down. Alternatively the cuts may extend to the panel 1 to form panels 30. Holding means may comprise apertures 35, 36 or panels formed by scoring lines 37--39. A score 27 along the length of the tube enables it to be folded flat prior to erection. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement forming a four-sided container for an Easter egg. Fig. 5 illustrates a threesided container for a bottle, in which panels 2, 3 are cut away at the tube ends to enable panel 1 to be curved round to interlock at the top.
