Each yielding leg of a mine arch support consists of an inverted hydraulic jack 12 which is secured to the mine arch segment 19 by a pivoted connection 15, 16, 17 and a clamp 20, 21, each jack being set by a pump 23 and incorporating pressure relief and relief valve means.
