Abstract

943,392. Plate-type heat exchangers. PAASCH & SILKEBORG MASKINFABRIKKER A.S. Oct. 17, 1962 [Feb. 5, 1962], No. 39284/62. Heading F4S. In a plate-type heat exchanger, each plate 1 is suspended from a common supporting rod, not shown, by means of a suspension member 3 of plate form having a hole 4 for the supporting rod to pass through, below which are provided one or more apertures or recesses which either co-operate with hook shaped portions formed in the plate 1, or have their punched out material portion or portions bent in a hook form to engage corresponding recesses in the plate 1. As shown, the hole 4 has a peripheral flange 5, and the edge of the member 3 above the hole is stiffened by a flange 6. Two inclined portions of the member 3 are punched out at 7 to form hooks 8, arranged symmetrically about the vertical centre line of the apparatus, the hooks 8 engaging in inclined slots 2 in the plate 1 to support the latter, the portion 9 of the member 3 below the hooks assisting in maintaining the plate 1 vertical and rigid relative to the member 3.
