Abstract
941,077. Measuring electrically; voltage and current measuring. STATNI VYZKUMNY USTAV TELEFONE TECHNIKY PRAHA, and H. R. LOOS. March 30,1961 [March 30,1960], No. 11850/61. Headings G1N and G1U. A transducer 11, Fig. 3, contains a resonance circuit 12,13, the capacitance 12 or the inductance 13, or both of which are varied by a non-electric variable to be measured. The resonance circuit is fed from a generator 16 over a low impedance cable 14 and adjusted "off tune" so that its working point 10 is on a linear portion of the resonance curve Fig. 2. The resonance circuit forms a substantially resistive load and depending on whether the internal resistance of the generator is greatly larger or smaller than this load the voltage across or the current flow in the load is measured at 18 or 19 to indicate the magnitude of the non-electric variable. Preferably a backing off current or voltage, as appropriate, is provided at the indicator so that only variations of the variable are indicated. Voltage and current measuring. An alternating voltage u 1 derived from the transducer 11, Fig. 4, is measured in a meter 25 where the input signal is amplified at 32 and fed over a transformer 26 and rectifier 27 to a pentode 34 forming one arm of a D.C. bridge 34, 35, 36, 37 having a meter 35 connected (if desired) by a switch 40 in series with an oscilloscope loop 39 across the measuring diagonal. A backing off voltage u 3 derived from a potential divider 29-31 is also fed to the pentode 34 so that only variations of the signal voltage are measured. The bridge input signal may also be indicated on a cathode ray oscilloscope fed via a filter 44-47 and terminals 48. When the transducer current is measured, Fig. 5 (not shown) the current is fed through a full wave rectifier to the meter which is also supplied with an adjustable backing off current so that variations only of the transducer current are indicated.
