Abstract
938,888. Cooling plates; heat radiators. G. WILLIAMS ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Nov. 18, 1959 [Nov. 19, 1958], No. 37192/58. Classes 29, 64 (2) and 64 (3). A hollow plate for cooling, freezing or heatradiating purposes is made up of elongated sub-units 1a joined together edge-to-edge by welding, adhesive or clamps and each provided with longitudinal, parallel, open-ended refrigerant ducts 3a which are connected as desired in series, parallel or (as shown) series/ parallel arrangement by headers 9. The subunits may be extruded from aluminium or aluminium alloy stock and each duct may have longitudinal internal fins 6. As shown, the mating edges of the sub-units interfit at 7, 8. According to the Provisional Specification, the sub-units may be spaced apart and have separate end headers joined by connecting pipe elbows.
