938,606. Casting processes. HOESCH A.G. Sept. 29, 1960 [Oct. 3, 1959], No. 33495/60. Class 83 (1). When casting rimmed steel the pressure in the mould is decreased from atmospheric by from 30-160 mm. Hg as soon as the steel has reached a height of between 50-200 mm. in the mould, this pressure is maintained until the mould is filled and is then reduced, at a rate of at least 20 mm. Hg per minute, to below 400 mm. Hg. This final pressure may be maintained until solidification is complete.
