937,586. Winding stators of electric motors. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 16, 1962 [Aug. 17, 1961], No. 29731/61. Class 35. A coil winding or like machine of the kind in which a wire or other flexible element moves continuously during normal operation has, for detecting breakage of the wire, means comprising a centrifugal mechanism carried by a rotatably mounted member which is continuously rotated in response to the normal movement of the wire so that switching means controlled by said centrifugal mechanism stop the machine upon the speed of the rotatably mounted member falling to or below a predetermined speed. The centrifugal mechanism 3, 4, 5, 6 is mounted on a shaft 1 and has a disc 7, attached to the sliding collar 6, which operates a micro-switch 8. A wheel 9 mounted on the shaft 9 is driven by the face of a pulley 10 over which the element 11 passes. An overriding switch enables the machine to be started when the centrifugal mechanism is at rest. Specifications 937,584, 937,585 and 937,587 are referred to.
