Abstract

937,477. Arc welding systems; rectifying. BETEILIGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Feb. 9, 1962 [Feb. 10, 1961], No. 5159/62. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). A circuit to reduce the no load voltage output of a welding rectifier 1, comprises a transductor 5 whose control winding 10 is demagnetized when the voltage across a resistor 40 of a potentiometer 39, 40 connected across the welding electrodes 8, 9 exceeds the breakdown voltage of a Zener diode 44 which blocks a 4 layer rectifier 33 connected in series with the control winding 10 and an unsmoothed rectifier 12. A diode 49 protects the winding 10 against overvoltages.
