Abstract

935,813. Animal feeding appliances. B. C. ELTHAM. June 1, 1962, No. 21149/62. Class 5(2). An animal feeding appliance comprises a storage hopper 7 on opposite sides of which are located hay racks 6 and below which is a double feeding trough 5 supported on tubular bearers 10, a feed distributer being reciprocated over the base of the hopper by means of a lever to dispense feed in to the trough. The distributer comprises fixed apertured plates 3, 3a, the apertures of one plate being staggered with respect to those of the other plate, and a movable apertured slide 2 to one end of which is attached the operating lever, a vertical agitator 8 being attached to the slide 2 and extending into the hopper through a slot in the plate 3a. The slide 2 may be withdrawn through one end of the appliance and replaced by a further slide having different sized apertures. The appliance is also provided with a cover 9 pivotable about axis 13 into the position shown dotted when the hopper and racks are refilled.
