933,864. Concrete reinforcing members. G. K. N. REINFORCEMENTS Ltd. Nov. 30, 1960 [Nov. 7, 1959], No. 37814/59. Class 20 (4). A tension member in a prestressed concrete construction comprises a plurality of round wires of the same diameter arranged in parallel relationship and gripped in a single anchorage device at each set of ends of the wires, wherein the wires are arranged in at least two rows in which the wires are in side-by-side engagement with the wires being in staggered relationship in adjacent rows, Fig. 1, with a series of clips spaced apart along the lengths of the wires, each clip being formed of relatively thin resilient metal strip and shaped to undulating form so as to provide a series of side-by-side pockets, in which the wires are engaged, extending between the longitudinal side edges of the rows of wires. In one form of clip, Fig. 2, the metal strip is bent into a series of S-bends connected together in line with adjacent S elements facing in opposite directions to form pockets 22. These clips may be used to secure the wires in a tension member having three rows 10, 11 and 12 of wires by alternately staggering the clips as shown in Fig. 3. An alternative form of clip, Fig. 5, consists of two similar sinusoidallybent strips A and B having interengaging slots enabling the strips to be assembled to form pockets 34. An anchorage device for use with the tension member according to the invention is described and is the subject of the invention in Specification 933,865.
