A dry shaver comprises a head 1 having a flexible arched perforated shearing blade 4, the side portions 4a, 4b of which are formed with cutting teeth 4a<SP>1</SP>, 4b<SP>1</SP>, the blade being supported by means of parallel bridge parts 2 lying along the blade and the blade having urged thereagainst, by means of springs 6, a reciprocable cutter 5 formed of sheet metal of greater rigidity than the blade, the cutter having a central arched portion engaging the blade and formed with slits 5<SP>1</SP> to co-operate with the blade in providing a shaving action, side portions 5a, 5b of the cutter being formed with teeth 5a<SP>1</SP>, 5b<SP>1</SP> co-operable with the teeth 4a<SP>1</SP>, 4b<SP>1</SP> to provide a trimming action during reciprocation of the cutter, and the arched portion of the cutter being bridged by a pin 7 through which the reciprocating drive is applied to the cutter, the pin being approximately at the centre of gravity of the cutter or even closer to the blade. The head 1 is detachably secured to a casing 8 which contains an electric driving motor. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 849,575.
