Abstract
932,499. Treating nuclear reactor coolants. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Feb. 23, 1961 [March 1, 1960], No. 6654/61. Class 39 (4). [Also in Groups I and XXVIII] A device for filtering radio-active coolant gas in a test loop disposed in a nuclear reactor comprises a bowl 1 and a removable enclosure 8 containing filter elements 23. A shutter 21 forming part of the wall of the enclosure is normally held raised by engagement of a shoulder 22 on it with the bowl 1, thus leaving an inlet orifice 20. When the enclosure 8 is removed the shutter drops, thus closing the enclosure completely and providing radiological protection. Filtered fluid emerges from an annular slit 12 to reach the outlet 3 when the filter is in use.
