A locking system for a window or door comprises a locking member (1) slidably mounted on a face of the window or door. A handle unit (10) is mounted on the window or door and is provided with engagement means (6) which extend inwardly from the handle unit (10) and engage cooperating means (4, 5) upstanding from the locking member (1). <IMAGE>
