A raft comprises inflatable buoyant bags 1 held closely together in parallel relation in a single plane by one or more lines A, B of rigid saddle members 2, each member being disposed saddle-wise over at least two adjacent bags and embracing them by a frame 10 connecting the ends of each saddle member and passing underneath the bags, and a rigid loadcarrying element 5 secured on top of each line (A and/or B) extending from end to end of the line. Each element 5 has at each end a hinged portion 6 constituting a loading ramp.
