Abstract
<PICT:0931192/III/1> A mixture of paraxylene crystals, mother liquor and coolant brine is brought on to a rotating annular filter cloth 32 by pipe 60 and the crystals are drained by pipe 20 while in the sector A (Fig. 6). They are then stirred with 85% pure paraxylene from pipe 61 by agitator 53, being drained at the end of sector B. The washing process is repeated with 99,5% paraxylene in section C before similar washing without agitation but at a higher temperature. The final step in sector D may be replaced by conventional extractions. All the liquors produced in the washing stages can be recycled for further treatment. <PICT:0931192/III/2>
