Abstract

929,925. Copying documents; tripping. W. RITZERFELD, and G. RITZERFELD. April 17, 1962 [June 5, 1961], No. 14735/62. Class 100 (2). A drum 1 carrying the master sheet is driven through a mechanical connection, e.g. a belt 31, by an electric motor 21 and carries a cam 4 which opens a switch 6 in the supply to the motor when the drum has completed a revolution and also interrupts the supply to a solenoid 28 holding brake shoes 26, 27 in inoperative position. This allows a spring 23 to apply the brake. In a modified form the brakes are held off by a spring and applied by a solenoid energized by switch 6 when it de-energizes the motor. In parallel with switch 6 are a switch 19 closed by the presence of one or more copy sheets 38 on feed-table 17, and, in series with switch 19, switches 10 and 9 of the self-releasing and selfholding types, respectively. For one copy, switch 10 is pressed to start the motor, if switch 19 be closed by the presence of a sheet, and is then released; operation continues until cam 4 opens switch 6 after one cycle. To copy a run, a pile of sheets is placed on the feed table and switch 9 is closed. The machine operates until the pile is exhausted, whereupon switch 19 opens, and the current cycle has been completed.
