Abstract
929,494. Gratings. ALLAN KENNEDY & CO. Ltd. Dec. 9, 1960 [Sept. 25, 1959], No. 32664/59. Class 74 (2). [Also in Group X] A grating is formed by locating bars 2 of inverted V-section in complementary slots 3 extending from the upper edges of bars 1, a tongue 5 between the slots being pressed outwardly during assembly and pressed back into place to retain the bars 2 in position. Tongues 4 overlie the major portion of the bars 2. Bars 1 and 2 may be welded together and/or the bars 2 may be deformed as at 7, Fig. 5, in the spaces between the bars 1. In an alternative form (not shown), the tongue 5 is cut away and the triangular opening thus formed receives an inverted V-section bar or solid triangular section bar. In further forms, L-section or inverted T-section bars are located in complementary slots, the horizontal tongue (5) being pressed outwardly during assembly.
