929,390. Retaining-rings. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc. July 14, 1959, No. 24219/59. Class 89 (2). An elastic retaining ring comprises an unbroken annulus 38, Fig. 4, of synthetic resin, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, with a radially-outwardly extending tab 40 for extracting the ring from a groove. The ring cross-section may be circular, elliptical or, as shown in Figs. 7 and 8, cut-away to provide a shoulder 56, 66. The groove to receive the ring is shaped to correspond therewith.
