A sanitary convenience 6 is placed in a tapered slot in a foam rubber or plastic cushion having a waterproof cover and a firm rubber base 2. The overhanging sides 3 of the slot are stiffened to prevent them from bearing down on the convenience under the weight of the person sitting on the cushion.
