Abstract

927,407. Holders for thermionic valves. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 15, 1961 [Aug. 18, 1960], No. 28677/60. Class 38 (1). An electrical contact member comprises a U-shaped body portion 1 with two resilient side arms 2, 3, which may be attached to two supporting members 22, 25. Two resilient contact pieces 4, 5 extend from the side arm 2 to form a socket portion which is secured to the holder 22 by a tag 6 and laterally projecting surfaces 7, 8, integral with 2, abutting against the ledge 23 and ledges 24 respectively. The side arm 3 is bent to form a tag 9 and two ears 11, 12, which abut respectively against cooperating surfaces 26, 27 on the board 25, and may be released by rotating the arm 3 about its junction with the body portion 1. The tag 9 can be soldered to a printed circuit on the board 25, after the valve holder has been secured within an aperture on the board by two or more contact members as described.
